Catalogue:
  • Books for Issue(1976 Onwards) - Ground Floor(Stack Area)
  • Books for Issue(Upto 1975) - Compact Storage - Left Wing
  • Reference Books & Series Publications- Tier-2(Right Wing)
Books including reference books and text books are arranged by Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme.

Catalogue:
Books are catalogued based on Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR) Ed-2. The catalogue consists of two parts, viz., alphabetical and classified (arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Class Numbers). Alphabetical part of the book catalogue helps in identifying books by : Specific author. Specific collaborator, i.e., editor, compiler, translator, etc.
A publisher series. Title(s) of important reference books like dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, etc.


Subject:
The classified part provides in addition to identifying books under a class number, cross-references to other related subjects.
Each catalogue card gives full bibliographic details. One book can have several catalogue cards depending upon the number of access points it can have.
